Fading Memories

Meet Jennifer Fink!

Jennifer's journey has been a dynamic and transformative one. In the first half of her adult life, she pursued a career as a portrait photographer. However, in early 2020, she decided to retire from that profession. During her retirement, Jennifer has always had passion for podcasts, using them as a means to learn new things while walking her dogs or doing household chores.

However, her life took a significant turn after the passing of her father in March 2017. With the loss of her father, caring for her Mother became a much bigger responsibility. She found herself searching for answers and support related to caregiving for Alzheimer's patients, but couldn't find exactly what she needed.

Determined to bridge this gap, Jennifer decided to take matters into her own hands. Drawing from her personal experiences as the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of women who suffered from Alzheimer's or other cognitive impairments, she embarked on a mission to create a supportive podcast tailored specifically for caregivers of Alzheimer's patients. This podcast aimed to provide the answers and support she wished she had found earlier.

Jennifer's motivation behind her podcasting venture is not just to help others but to find ways to prevent Alzheimer's from affecting her as the fourth generation in her family. This personal quest for answers, combined with her desire to connect better with her mother, fueled her passion for podcasting, transforming it into an intriguing and meaningful journey.

Jennifer's story is one of transformation, resilience, and compassion. Her transition from a portrait photographer to a caregiver and podcast creator highlights her dynamic nature, as she seeks to make a positive impact in the lives of others while addressing her own personal challenges.

"Fading Memories was created to support family caregivers in a simple, on-demand form. When I was looking for advice on caring for my Mom, I needed this podcast. Since it didn’t exist, I created what I needed!" Jennifer Fink
